[iPhone Game] B1nary Game: One Month Later

b1nary Game

It has been a little less than a month since I provided my initial reactions and review of the new iPhone/iPod touch game called “B1nary Game”. (b1nary review at edumacnation.com)  At the time I attempted to connect the experience of playing the game with the mathematical strategies that a student progresses through as they solve equations.

I still am very pleased with the game and while surfing around I found (and wanted to share) an example of how B1nary Game helped a network engineer…

I bought this game for different reasons. Yes, it’s fun. Yes, it’s challenging and the social aspect they built in is really smart marketing, but I wanted this game because binary math is a huge part of my daily job as a network engineer…

This game has been great practice for me and helped in my re-certification process. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who works in networking, and while you’re at it see if you can make it to the top of the leader boards.”

Maybe you have a similar story… if so please share!

  2. I thought it was cool to see how the game goes beyond something that is just a “time waster” but can assist someone's mathematical skills independent of their profession.

I wish there was a web-based version, flash or java, that I could share with my elementary school students! I think the challenge of “building” numbers is excellent for number sense. If you happen to know of something out there similar please come back around and share! Thank you 8)
