My son enjoys playing with the iPhone. The bright colors, sounds, and buttons that wiggle make even us adults excited. Two applications that my son likes to use/play with are “I See Ewe” (
) and “PreSchool Adventure” (
). Each application has vivid colors, an easy to use interface, and fantastic audio that is fun and educational at the same time!Below are some screen shots from each of the applications.
First up is Preschool Adventure from 3Dal. Initially the application came with only the “color”, “shapes”, “body”, and “sounds” sections. One of their more recent updates added the new “matching” section which was an instant hit with my son.
This image is from their “sounds” section and features barnyard animals that can be clicked.
Another favorite is the “shapes” page which features bright eyed shapes that leap up once clicked.
The main page is what greets the child after the short 3Dal load screen. This is where the child can select which section they would like to play with. I have always liked how there is an easy to recognize “X” in the corner of each section which will bring the user back to the main page.
A couple of weeks ago I decided to purchase an application dedicated to matching. My son was loving the Animatch game on his grandfather’s iPhone during the holiday break. After seeing a post on Appcraver.com about the I See Ewe application, by Claireware Software, I decided to give the application a try. To me the most important thing was that my son could navigate and use the application. Within a short period of time he was finding his way around the options pane (pictured below) and he loved the positive feedback when he was able to find a match or choose the right color/shape/animal/ or object.
The load screen has large buttons and the colors contrast enough to make it easy for a toddler to select the correct game. Once in the middle of a game my son uses an “X” in the corner to exit back to this load screen. It is nice that both “I See Ewe” and “Preschool Adventure” have similar locations for exiting back.
Overall, both are great applications and well worth the cost based upon my son’s enjoyment.
